It’s that time of year again. You know, when most of us decide whether to make typical resolutions because we are unhappy and then which ones to start on first.
But here’s a question: What is so wrong with who we are right now? Really?
Now, if you prefer to go straight to Resolution Land and skip this post because you do have meaningful, realistic, and and positive resolutions to embark upon, scroll down to the bottom for your small gift to start 2014!
However, if the question resonates with you, let’s continue.
So, what is so wrong with who we are right now? What if you could live — even for a moment — without always thinking that you have to change something about yourself, because you think something is bad or wrong? Imagine how peaceful that would be for your soul. Even if for just one day.
If this sounds interesting to you, then let’s go one step further, shall we? Every time you hear yourself starting to make a criticism, counteract it with the following statement:
“I am thankful for who I am, and I am perfect. Thank you, (insert your name here), for everything.”
It sounds funny, even hokey. But, it works. Replacing this with any impending self-scolding will decrease the desire to make resolutions just to make resolutions. And, it will help you hone in on the ones you can truly make while being yourself. And that’s the key: Be your true self.
Happy New Year to you all!
